The award-winning San Francisco Business Times is seeking an experienced editorial intern for reporting, writing and researching.
The San Francisco Business Times is a Bay Area business newspaper and web site covering local business news, people and trends. Our web site gets 2 million page views a month and we have a print readership of close to 100,000.
The intern will report and write stories for the web site and the print publication as well as help proofread the paper. The intern will also help conduct research.
We’re looking for a sharp, motivated and organized individual who seeks to go far in journalism and are interested in small business, startups and entrepreneurs as well as other topics.
You will work alongside a team of 15 reporters, editors, videographers, photographers and researchers in downtown San Francisco on a publication regularly named one of the best weeklies in California. We cover real estate, nonprofits, biotechnology, health care, finance, technology, sports, hotels and restaurants. Our website — sanfranciscobusinesstimes.com — also features local business and industry news.
Our reporting interns have gone on to full-time positions at TechCrunch, The Recorder, The Oregonian, AP, the Houston Chronicle, the San Antonio Business Journal, Patch.com, the San Jose Mercury News, PR Week, and elsewhere. A few have stayed on as reporters in our newsroom.
The internship is for approximately 30-40 hours per week and pays $13 an hour. Internships last 90 days.
